Born from a Love of Colombian Birds
Rainbow Birding Colombia was founded with a simple mission: to share the incredible avian diversity of Colombia with birders from around the world, while supporting the conservation of the habitats that make it possible.
Colombia is home to more bird species than any other country on Earth — over 1,900 species, including 85 endemics found nowhere else. Yet for years, it remained underexplored due to security concerns. Today, Colombia is one of the safest and most rewarding destinations for birding tourism.
Our guides have spent decades in the field, accumulating an intimate knowledge of Colombia's birds, their habitats, behaviors, and vocalizations. We combine this expertise with careful logistics, excellent accommodations, and a deep respect for local communities and ecosystems.

Founder & Lead Guide
With over 15 years of experience guiding birding tours across Colombia, Carlos has personally identified more than 1,600 Colombian species. His expertise in bird vocalizations is unmatched.
Valentina Ospina
Senior Guide & Ornithologist
A trained ornithologist from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Valentina specializes in Amazonian birds and has participated in several species discovery expeditions.
Miguel Ángel Torres
Guide & Conservation Officer
Miguel coordinates our conservation programs and leads tours in the Llanos and Pacific Coast. He has been instrumental in establishing two private bird reserves.
